Srinagar, March 11 (KINS): Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi (IPS), chaired a security review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir. The meeting was attended by all Range DIGs, District SSPs, SO to IGP Kashmir, JDP ZPHQ, SP PC Srinagar, and other senior officers.
The meeting commenced with updates from district officers on recent security trends, emphasizing the need to maintain stability and operational readiness across the Kashmir Zone. Officers delivered presentations outlining the evolving security landscape.
Key discussions focused on proactive security measures, seamless intelligence coordination, and active public cooperation to ensure peace and stability. IGP Kashmir underscored the importance of closely monitoring anti-national activities and strengthening territorial control across all districts. He directed officers to intensify area domination exercises and enhance night patrolling in vulnerable areas to reinforce the security grid.
On the operational front, IGP Kashmir stressed the need for improved policing at Police Station and Sub-Divisional levels, particularly in record-keeping and investigations. He called for high-quality investigations and emphasized the importance of consistent follow-ups at the trial stage.
The IGP also highlighted the significance of fostering better public relations and prioritizing people-sensitive policing. Addressing public grievances was identified as a top priority, alongside operational duties and crime-related responsibilities.
In conclusion, IGP Kashmir commended the officers for their dedication and reiterated the collective responsibility of ensuring the region’s safety.
