Amarnath Yatra 2025: Authorities gear up with unprecedented preparations

Srinagar, June 02 (KINS): In the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, preparations for this year’s Shri Amarnath Yatra have been significantly intensified, with unprecedented security measures and large-scale infrastructure upgrades underway to ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims.
According to a report by news agency KINS, authorities have launched comprehensive efforts to bolster both security and logistical arrangements for the upcoming pilgrimage. From enhanced deployment of forces to upgraded medical, transport, and accommodation facilities, every aspect of the Yatra is being meticulously planned to avoid any disruptions and ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience.
“At the Nunwan base camp, the traditional tent accommodations are being replaced by robust iron prefab structures, aimed at offering better protection and comfort amid rising security concerns. Authorities will leave no stone unturned in fortifying the route and base camps,” officials told KINS.
A massive deployment of around 600 paramilitary companies is being executed across the Yatra route, alongside active coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Indian Army.
Surveillance drones, more check points will also be introduced to create a layered security grid.
This high-alert security environment comes just weeks after the Pahalgam attack, which shook Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country.
The administration is determined to ensure that the Amarnath Yatra 2025 remains peaceful and spiritually enriching. Pilgrims are expected to start arriving by late June, with the yatra officially commencing in early July.(KINS)
