J&K Police arrests drug peddler in Baramulla; contraband seized

Baramulla, Oct 17 (KINS): Continuing its fight against drug trafficking, J&K Police arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband from his possession.

A police team from Police Station Kunzer, during a checkpoint at Manglora Crossing, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Irfan Rashid Zargar, son of Ab. Rashid, resident of Chewa Budgam. Upon his personal search, a charas-like substance weighing approximately 26.5 grams concealed in a polythene bag was recovered.

The accused has been arrested and a case FIR No. 115/2025 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kunzer. Further investigation is underway.

The J&K Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a drug-free society and appealed to the public to share information regarding drug abuse or peddling with the nearest police station.(KINS)
