Winter vacations till middle classes from first week of December: Sakina Itoo

Srinagar, Nov 19 (KINS): Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said that winter vacations for classes from Nursery up to Middle level in Kashmir division are likely to begin in the first week of December in view of the prevailing cold weather conditions.

Talking to reporters, the minister said the department has already reviewed the situation. “We have held a meeting regarding this, and winter vacations for nursery to middle classes will commence from the first week of December,” she said, according to news agency KINS.

She added that concerns raised by parents and schools regarding availability of books and other academic requirements have also been taken up. “A meeting has been held and necessary directions have been issued,” she said, adding that the department is closely monitoring the academic calendar as weather conditions continue to deteriorate.
