BJP leaders pay tribute to former MLA Ram Nath Manhas on death anniversary

Srinagar, Dec 31 (KINS): Senior leaders of the Jammu and Kashmir BJP on Wednesday paid floral tributes to former MLA Late Shri Ram Nath Manhas on his death anniversary at Chhamb, remembering his valuable contribution to society, democracy and the party.

J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, along with Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat, led the tribute programme. Several senior BJP leaders, workers and local party functionaries were present on the occasion.

Those who attended the programme included District Prabhari Vinay Mahajan, District President Kuldeep Sharma, District Seh-Prabhari Vaishno Devi, former MLA Dr Krishan Lal, Daljit Chib, Jugal Dogra, Jagdish Bhagat, Ram Swaroop and others. The programme was organised by Samiti members Bhupinder Singh, Sukhdev, Ashok Singh Chib and their associates.

Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said Late Shri Ram Nath Manhas was a dedicated leader who spent his entire life serving the nation and society. Born in December 1921 and passing away on December 31, 2003, he served as an MLA from 1977 to 1983 and also held the responsibility of State General Secretary of the BJP. Sat Sharma said Shri Manhas played a key role in strengthening the party during difficult times and always believed that politics should be a means of service and sacrifice.

Jugal Kishore Sharma said that Late Shri Ram Nath Manhas made a lasting contribution through his participation in public movements for social justice. He recalled his active role in the Praja Parishad Andolan, during which he fearlessly faced arrests and imprisonment while fighting for people’s rights and national unity.

MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat said Shri Manhas lived a simple and disciplined life and remained closely connected with the grassroots. He worked continuously for the welfare of the common people, he added.

Daljit Chib said the sacrifices made by Late Shri Ram Nath Manhas during challenging times laid a strong foundation for the BJP in the region.

District President Kuldeep Sharma said that the ideals and dedication of Late Shri Ram Nath Manhas will continue to inspire BJP workers to serve society with honesty and commitment.(KINS)
