Srinagar, April 27 (KINS: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, visited Srinagar today and held an extensive meeting with senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir unit at Church Lane, Srinagar. He was accompanied by BJP UT President and Member of Parliament Sat Sharma, Leader of Opposition and MLA Sunil Sharma, and State General Secretary Mohammad Anwar Khan.
The meeting witnessed participation from state leaders, district presidents, district prabharis, and other senior party functionaries. Addressing the gathering, Shivraj Singh Chouhan lauded the BJP J&K unit for strengthening the party at the grassroots level despite challenging circumstances in the region.
In his address, the Union Minister announced a significant development initiative, stating that Srinagar will soon witness the launch of PMGSY-IV Batch-II, aimed at enhancing rural connectivity and boosting infrastructure in the region. He emphasized that the Modi government remains committed to accelerating development in Jammu & Kashmir, with a special focus on rural prosperity and agricultural growth.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan further highlighted that, following a request from BJP UT President Sat Sharma and Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, efforts are being planned to identify and engage talented youth and bright minds from the Kashmir Valley. These individuals will be encouraged to contribute to research and innovation, particularly in the agriculture sector, to drive sustainable development and improve livelihoods.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma welcomed the Union Minister’s visit and appreciated his continued support and focus on Jammu & Kashmir’s development. He also emphasized that the BJP’s footprint in the Kashmir Valley has been steadily expanding, with increasing participation from youth and grassroots workers. Sharma noted that the party’s policies, focused on development, transparency, and inclusive growth, are resonating with the people of the Valley, leading to greater acceptance and organizational strengthening at the booth level.
Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma also addressed the gathering, reiterating the party’s commitment to public welfare and development-driven governance in the Union Territory.(KINS)
