DGP reviews security preparedness for Amarnath Yatra 2026 in South Kashmir
Srinagar, June 22 (KINS): Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Monday chaired a high-level Security Review Meeting to assess the counter-insurgency strategy and security arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra (SANJY) 2026.
The meeting was attended by senior officers from the Army’s Victor Force, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) from South Kashmir districts also participated and presented detailed reports on the prevailing security situation, counter-insurgency operations, and the multi-layered security plan being implemented for the annual pilgrimage.
Reviewing the overall preparedness, the DGP stressed the importance of close coordination among all security agencies to ensure a safe, peaceful, and incident-free Yatra. He directed the forces to maintain a high level of alertness and strengthen intelligence-based operations to effectively address any security challenges.(KINS)
