High devotee turnout at Kheer Bhawani Mela reflects peace in Kashmir: BJP’s Sat Sharma

Srinagar, June 22 (KINS): BJP Jammu and Kashmir president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma on Monday said the large participation of devotees in the annual Kheer Bhawani Mela reflects the prevailing atmosphere of peace and normalcy in the Kashmir Valley.

After offering prayers at the Mata Kheer Bhawani shrine in Tulmulla, Sharma told reporters that devotees from across the country, along with people from different faiths and political backgrounds, had gathered at the temple, demonstrating the spirit of communal harmony and the improved security situation in the Union Territory.

He said the increasing number of pilgrims visiting the shrine was an encouraging sign and indicated growing confidence among devotees in returning to Kashmir for religious events.

Sharma said he prayed for lasting peace, prosperity and continued progress in Jammu and Kashmir. He also expressed hope that the positive changes witnessed in the region after the abrogation of Article 370 would continue.

The BJP leader further said he prayed for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s good health and long life, expressing confidence that his leadership would help India continue its journey towards becoming a developed nation. (KINS)
