Srinagar, Aug 1 (KINS): Authorities on Saturday ordered the closure of all government and private schools in the districts of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban due to heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions.
The Chief Education Officer (CEO), Doda, announced that all government and private schools in the district will remain closed on August 1, 2026, following directions from the District Administration. However, online classes will continue as per the scheduled timetable.
In Kishtwar, the Chief Education Officer issued an order stating that schools will remain closed due to persistent heavy rainfall, slippery road conditions and the possibility of shooting stones, which pose a risk to the safety of students and staff. The order was issued in compliance with the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar. Heads of all institutions have been directed to ensure that online classes are conducted effectively through appropriate digital platforms.
Similarly, the Chief Education Officer, Ramban, ordered the closure of all government and private schools in the district on August 1 due to heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions, in line with the directions of the District Administration. Schools have also been instructed to continue academic activities through online classes to avoid disruption to students’ education.KINS)
