Bhaderwah, Oct 22 (KINS): The Indian Army conducted a career outreach programme at Government Degree College (GDC), Bhaderwah, on October 21 to guide young people about career opportunities in the armed forces.
The programme was organised by the Army Recruiting Office (ARO), Jammu, under the aegis of Headquarters Recruiting Zone, Jalandhar. Around 300 students, including NCC cadets, along with college teaching staff, participated in the event.
College Principal Prof. Basharat Iqbal appreciated the Army’s efforts to connect with and guide the youth of Jammu Division.
During the programme, recruitment officials explained various entry routes into the Indian Army, including officer-level entries, NCC special entries and opportunities available to women candidates.
The interactive session aimed to help students understand the eligibility criteria, selection process and career opportunities in the armed forces.
The Army also cautioned aspiring candidates against fraud and clarified that recruitment is completely free, transparent and based on merit. Students were advised not to fall prey to touts or anyone promising selection in exchange for money.
Candidates were urged to rely only on official information and use the Indian Army recruitment website, www.joinindianarmy.nic.in, for registrations and recruitment-related updates.
The programme aimed to motivate young people in Bhaderwah and Doda to explore careers in the armed forces and contribute to the nation through discipline, courage and service.(KINS)
