Govt sets new working days, duty timings for medical & dental colleges in JK

Srinagar, Apr 04: In a move aimed at enhancing patient care, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a new order, Government Order No. 272 -JK (HME) of 2024, regarding working days and duty timings for Government Medical Colleges and Government Dental Colleges in the region.
The order, effective immediately, supersedes all previous directives on the matter.
According to the new order, on weekdays, the reporting time for staff at these colleges will be at 9:00 AM, with a relieving time of 5:00 PM. Additionally, a half-hour lunch break from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM will be observed on all days except Saturdays.
On Saturdays, staff are required to report at 9:00 AM and will be relieved at 1:30 PM, allowing for a shorter working day compared to weekdays.
This decision, aimed at streamlining operational efficiency and ensuring optimal patient care, comes as part of the ongoing efforts by the government to enhance the healthcare infrastructure and services in Jammu and Kashmir.
Signed by Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary to the Government, and AtUl Munim Tak, Deputy Secretary to the Government, this directive reflects the government’s commitment to improving healthcare services in the region.
