Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Postal Ballot Voting Commences for Government Employees in Kupwara

479 Votes Cast on the First Day

KUPWARA, MAY 15:The postal ballot voting for government employees in Kupwara district began smoothly on Wednesday, marking an efficient start to the electoral process. The Postal Voting Centre, set up at the DC Office Complex Kupwara, facilitated the voting for officials engaged in essential services.

On the first day, 479 employees from various departments exercised their voting rights at the two booths of the Postal Voting Centre. In total, 4,147 government employees in the district are scheduled to vote via postal ballot from May 15 to May 17, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Employees queued enthusiastically, waiting for their turn to vote. The District Election Office, Kupwara, ensured all necessary arrangements were in place for those who applied for postal ballots through Form-12.

This postal ballot initiative has provided a convenient and accessible option for employees to cast their votes, ensuring they can fulfill their civic duty without the need to be physically present at polling stations.

Meanwhile, home voting for voters aged 85 and above, as well as specially-abled voters, continued for the second day. Poll parties, equipped with necessary voting facilities, traveled to far-off areas across all six assembly segments of Kupwara district, ensuring these voters could cast their ballots from home.
