Srinagar, Aug 27 (KINS): In preparation for the upcoming General Elections to the Legislative Assembly-2024 in Srinagar District, an Integrated Election Control Room, Media Certification & Monitoring Committee (MCMC), and Media Centre have been established at the District Election Office (DC/DEO). These facilities are aimed at ensuring a smooth, transparent, and fair electoral process, following the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The MCMC will monitor paid news and pre-certify political advertisements across various platforms, including TV, radio, and social media. Additionally, a 24×7 Election Control Room has been set up to assist the electorate and manage election-related activities, while the Media Centre will provide real-time election updates to the public and stakeholders.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din, who is also the District Election Officer (DEO), emphasized the importance of these measures in maintaining transparency and fairness in the electoral process. He called upon all officers and staff to work with dedication to uphold the integrity of the elections.(KINS)
