Srinagar, Sep 21 (KINS): The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Kashmir, in collaboration with Kashmir Civil Society, organized a drug awareness programme at Government High School, Narkara Budgam. The event was attended by students, teaching, and non-teaching staff of the school, aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the collective responsibility of society in combating this menace.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) from the Anti-Narcotics Task Force gave a comprehensive presentation on the drug problem, discussing its sources, causes, consequences, and the crucial role that every member of the community must play in curbing it. Volunteers from Kashmir Civil Society, along with staff members of the school, also shared insights on the rising threat of drug addiction and its impact on the younger generation.
In addition to the awareness programme, a destruction drive targeting wild cannabis growth was carried out in Ibrahim Colony, Narkara Budgam, in partnership with the Municipal Committee Srinagar. Several patches of wild cannabis growing around the school premises were successfully eradicated during the operation, reinforcing the commitment of local authorities to keep the community free from harmful substances.
The ANTF’s initiative highlights the importance of both preventive education and active measures in the fight against drug abuse, ensuring a safer and healthier environment for future generations.(KINS)
