Srinagar, Oct 08 (KINS): After the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) success in Haryana Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed party workers at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, also emphasizing the significance of successful Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
“In Jammu and Kashmir, after 10 years, peaceful elections have taken place. The voting process and the results reflect the win of democracy,” Modi stated as per news agency KINS, celebrating the return to a stable electoral process in the Union Territory.
He acknowledged the efforts of the local electorate, saying, “The people of JK have given the National Conference a majority of seats, and I congratulate them.”
The Prime Minister also pointed out the BJP’s strong performance in the region, noting, “In terms of vote share, the BJP has emerged as the biggest party in Jammu and Kashmir. I congratulate all the winning candidates representing the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Modi expressed his gratitude to party workers, emphasizing their crucial role in the party’s achievements. “I salute the BJP workers for their unwavering support to the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, recognizing their dedication and efforts during the election campaign.
The Prime Minister further stated, “The elections in Jammu and Kashmir are historic. The Indian Constitution has been fully restored in the region, allowing elections to take place. Some people predicted that after the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir would be engulfed in chaos. However, the reality is that J&K is thriving. Our region is now free from curfews and terrorism. We have successfully restored democracy in Jammu and Kashmir.”(KINS)
