Fire damages around 35 houses in Kishtwar

Srinagar, Oct 14 (KINS): A devastating fire broke out in the remote village of Mulwarwan, located in the Warwan tehsil of Kishtwar district. The fire spread rapidly, destroying causing significant damage to property.
News agency KINS reported that in response to the emergency, fire tenders were immediately dispatched from Kokernag in the nearby Anantnag district. Firefighters are working hard to control the flames and prevent further damage to the village, which is in a mountainous region with limited access.
Local authorities, including police and district officials, have also been on-site to assess the situation. They are ensuring relief efforts are underway, including setting up temporary shelters and providing food and medical care for affected families. Rescue teams are also working to ensure that no one is trapped or injured in the blaze.
The Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, along with other senior officials, is monitoring the situation closely. They have assured the public that every effort is being made to safeguard the residents and offer help to those who have lost their homes. The administration is taking steps to ensure the safety of the surrounding areas, and authorities are already looking into the cause of the fire. Further investigations are expected to determine the extent of the damage.
While no casualties have been reported so far, the fire has caused significant disruption to the lives of the villagers, many of whom rely on agriculture and livestock for their livelihoods. The district administration has initiated rehabilitation measures for those affected. Relief operations are ongoing, and more teams are being sent to provide additional support.(KINS)
