Drug peddler arrested in Baramulla; 500 grams of Charas recovered

Baramulla, Dec 14 (KINS): In a major crackdown against drug-related crimes, Baramulla Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered a substantial quantity of contraband from his possession.

According to police statement, a team from Police Station Baramulla, led by SHO Baramulla, intercepted a suspect during a routine checkpoint at Azadgunj near the Grid Station. The accused, identified as Javid Ahmad War, son of Late Nazir Ahmad and a resident of Armpora Old Town, was found in possession of 500 grams of Charas powder during the search.

According to news agency KINS, following the recovery, a case has been registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Baramulla, and an investigation is underway to ascertain further links and networks associated with the crime.

Police have urged the public to report any instances of drug peddling or suspicious activities in their vicinity by contacting the nearest police station or dialing the emergency helpline at 112.

“People’s cooperation is crucial in our fight against the drug menace,” the police spokesperson. (KINS)
