Srinagar, Dec 23 (KINS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti said on Monday that they are hopeful the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will ensure the rationalization of the merit process in a time-bound manner.
A protest against the current reservation policy, led by senior National Conference leader and Member of Parliament Aga Ruhullah, was held outside Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s official residence in the Gupkar area Srinagar.
Joining the protest, PDP leader Iltija Mufti stressed the need to address the challenges faced by the youth.
“A group of five students will meet the Chief Minister, and we hope he assures them of a fair and time-bound rationalization of the merit process,” She told reporters, as per news gathering agency KINS.
Highlighting the struggles of young people, Mufti added, “Our youngsters are in distress due to unemployment and a lack of opportunities. Their future must be protected, and their issues should not be ignored or treated lightly.”
