Dr. Jitendra Singh e-inaugurates Sansad Khel Spardha in Kathua

Kathua, Jan 18 (KINS): Union Minister of State (MoS) for Science & Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, today virtually inaugurated the Sansad Khel Spardha at the Sports Stadium, Kathua.
The event was attended by MLA Kathua, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, MLA Hiranagar, Advocate Vijay Sharma, Vice Chairman of District Development Council Kathua, Raghunandan Singh and Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Dr. Rakesh Minhasamong other dignitaries.
The one day sporting extravaganza featured competitions in Volleyball, Kabaddi and Kho-Kho, encompassing multiple age categories for both male and female athletes. The initiative aimed to foster a spirit of healthy competition and provide a platform for local talent to showcase their skills.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bharat Bhushan lauded the Sansad Khel Spardha as an excellent opportunity for the youth to engage in sports. He emphasized the importance of such activities in enhancing both the physical and mental well-being of the participants. “Sports not only build physical strength but also nurture discipline, teamwork and leadership qualities among youngsters,” asserted the MLA..
DC Kathua highlighted the event as part of a well-structured plan under the Sansad Khel Spardha
initiative by the district administration. He underscored the administration’s commitment towards reaching out to every corner of the district and engaging youth in positive and healthy activities like sports. “These events are vital to instill a positive spirit among the young generation, enabling them to channel their energy towards constructive endeavors and shaping their personalities,” he remarked.
The Sansad Khel Spardha not only drew enthusiastic participation from the athletes but also witnessed an overwhelming response from the local community. Spectators cheered on as players demonstrated their skills in the vibrant competitions.
The event concluded on a high note, with winners being felicitated and the audience appreciating the efforts of the organizers and the participants.(KINS)
