J&K Govt forms high-level committee to oversee departmental promotion committees

Jammu, Jan 20 (KINS): In a move aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) in Jammu and Kashmir, the government has constituted a High-Level Committee for monitoring their activities across all departments.
News agency KINS reported that the committee will be tasked with ensuring the timely conduct of DPC meetings, addressing stagnation issues, and developing roadmaps for career progression.
It will also tackle the issue of promotional vacancies to prevent ad-hoc promotions and additional charge assignments.
The General Administration Department will oversee the execution of these measures.
The committee will be led by Shantmanu, IAS, with members including senior officials from Jal Shakti, Finance, and Law departments.(KINS)
