Severe heatwave to grip J&K till June 13, MeT warns of hot, dry spell with isolated rain from June 14

Srinagar, June 11 (KINS): The Meteorological Department has predicted a spell of severe heatwave conditions across Jammu and Kashmir over the next three days, with temperatures expected to remain unusually high and dry till June 13.

A MeT official stated that while the overall weather will stay hot and dry, severe heatwave conditions will persist at scattered locations across the region.

Between June 14 and 17, brief spells of light rain and thundershowers are likely at isolated to scattered places, possibly accompanied by thunder and gusty winds. The weather is expected to turn hot and dry again from June 18 to 20.

People have been advised to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours (12 noon to 4 pm), and take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related ailments.

Farmers, however, have been encouraged to continue their agricultural operations as usual.(KINS)
