Omar-led govt fails to deliver on political front, says NC MP Aga Rahullah

Urges revocation of PSA on Mehraj Malik

Srinagar, Oct 11 (KINS): National Conference (NC) Member of Parliament Aga Ruhullah on Saturday said the Omar Abdullah-led government “has not done what should have been done” on political front during its one year in office.

Talking to reporters, according to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS), Ruhullah said the government had not done what was expected on political front.

“The government has not done on the political front what should have been done over the last one year. The government should not aim to please me, instead, it should listen to the people and address their issues,” Ruhullah said.

Referring to the upcoming Budgam bypoll, Ruhullah said he would comment on the party candidate once the official announcement is made. “I have already conveyed to the party leadership what the people of Budgam want,” he said.

Ruhullah also urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the Assembly Speaker to take immediate steps to revoke the Public Safety Act (PSA) slapped on Mehraj Malik so that he can attend the forthcoming Assembly session.

Taking a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ruhullah said the party was unwilling to restore the rights taken away from the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “BJP has no intention of returning the snatched rights of Kashmiris,” he added. (KINS)
