Jammu, Nov 28 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday received several eminent personalities and delegations who called on him to discuss initiatives in education, culture, development, and industry.
Mahant Rohit Shastri, President of Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, accompanied by Vice President Sunil Sharma, expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for his efforts in promoting Sanskrit among students of SKUAST Jammu. The Agriculture University recently introduced Sanskrit as a non-credit subject for Postgraduate students. Mahant Shastri also briefed the Lieutenant Governor on upcoming initiatives, including the “Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna Award – 2025”, the Sanskrit Nameplate Campaign, and the Mobile Sanskrit Gurukul project.
Bharat Bhushan, Chairman of the District Development Council (DDC) Jammu, along with Vice Chairman Suraj Singh, also met the Lieutenant Governor to discuss various developmental matters concerning the district.
Padma Shri Balwant Thakur, renowned theatre personality and former Cultural Diplomat of India to South Africa and Mauritius, called on the Lieutenant Governor to discuss cultural initiatives.
Additionally, a delegation from the Federation of Trade & Industry of India (FTII), led by National President Dr. Sanjay Bansal, presented key proposals and concerns related to the industrial sector in Jammu & Kashmir UT.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the initiatives of all delegations and emphasized collaborative efforts for the promotion of education, culture, development, and industrial growth in the Union Territory.(KINS)
