Srinagar Police felicitates specially-abled cricketer Nayeem Gulzar, extends financial support for his achievements

Srinagar, Dec 10 (KINS): Srinagar Police today honoured Nayeem Gulzar, a specially-abled and emerging cricketer, for his remarkable performance at the IDCA 9th T-20 National Cricket Championship for the Deaf held recently in New Delhi. The tournament, organised by the India Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) with support from the BCCI, saw teams from across the country competing.

At a felicitation ceremony held at the District Police Headquarters Srinagar, SSP Srinagar Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, IPS, presented Nayeem with a memento and financial assistance of ₹27,700. Congratulating him on the achievement, Dr. Chakravarthy praised Nayeem’s determination, noting that his journey stands as a powerful inspiration for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir. He said Nayeem’s success proves that dedication and perseverance can overcome all challenges.

Senior officers, including SP Headquarters Shah Umar, DySP Headquarters Ms. Syed Sleet Shah, and CPO DPO Jaswant Singh, were also present. They applauded Nayeem’s accomplishments and reiterated the commitment of Srinagar Police to support talented individuals, particularly differently-abled athletes, through guidance, encouragement, and financial aid for national and international events.

Srinagar Police reaffirmed that promoting sports, inclusivity, and youth empowerment remains central to its community engagement initiatives, aimed at creating opportunities for young athletes to shine and bring pride to the region.(KINS)
