DEO Baramulla organizes SVEEP Programme, demonstration of EVM-VVPAT

 

Baramulla, 09 January: A day long workshop on Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities and demonstration of the operation of EVM-VVPAT was today organized by District Election Officer Baramulla at Dak Bunglow Baramulla.

The Workshop was held for the core committee including Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and designated EVM-VVPAT operators.

District Election Officer (DEO) Baramulla, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Naqash, ADC Sopore, CEO Baramulla, Nodal Officer SVEEP and Principals of various colleges were also present in the workshop.

The experts on the occasion deliberated on SVEEP activities and also imparted training as how to operate EVM-VVPAT latest type voting machine in the station and counting centres.

It was given out that such awareness programmes will be conducted at Tehsil Level as well as in the 859 polling stations in the District. While as demonstration programmes VVPAT will also be organized.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Election Officer directed the concerned to sensitize the participants about SVEEP programme with full spirit and impart them better techniques about the operation of VVPAT. He also asked the participants to dedicate and focus on the programme and take advantage of it.

He said that VVPAT is a new type of Voting Machine which will help to overcome the doubts of voters. The DEO hoped that the programme will bring fruitful results during upcoming elections.
