Issues an open challenge for debate
Srinagar: Veteran Kashmir based politician Er Nazir Yatoo on Thursday lashed out at an TV anchor, Arnab Goswami, calling him a ‘disgrace to what passes off as journalism.’
Amid coronavirus outbreak, Arnab Goswami’s aggressive television debate has once again put him in the dock by yelling loudly on Muslim panelists. A verteran political leader from Kashmir has slammed his style of journalism in an open message to him. In his strongly worded message, Er Nazir Yatoo, has alleged that Goswami is not only biased and prejudiced but also lack substance, integrity, credibility and even confidence as a journalist.
Shouting on muslim moulvis in your studio is not a bravery, holding India’s 200 million Muslims collectively responsible for Nizamudin incident is simply a form of bigotry, if you believe in true version, why not apply the same standards to the government? Or is it that you lack the courage to critique the government and it’s far easier and self-serving to ask the government to “pull up” the media, Er Nazir Yatoo questioned Arnab Goswzmi.
“I challenge Arnab Goswami to come on neutral platform rather than holding an agenda-driven debates,” Yatoo said.
“Sheer ka bachcha hai tou studio se bahar Kashmir aao debate karte hai !” (if you’re a lion cub, step out your studio and come Kashmir for a open debate!) said Nazir Yatoo.
“You know Arnab why you can’t ever come close to match the journalism ethics? Simply because you lack integrity, honesty, flair for being free and fair. Trust me, even a illiterate is far from better than you,” wrote Er Nazir.
Mr Arnab, if you want to learn etchics, come here (Kashmir), here you will get a lesson from Kashmiri journalists, who believe in true version, despite facing problems, Yatoo wrote to Goswami.
My suggestion to you “Mr ambassador of RSS” is to find time to check feedback from viewers (especially Kashmir based). Then you will realise how disgusting it is and will definitely search for some other career options.
