SICOP donates Rs 10 Lakh to JK relief fund to fight Covid-19

‘Supplies 150 litres of hand sanitizer, 3000 beds to hospitals’

Srinagar, Apr 06 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Limited (SICOP) donated Rs 10 Lakh to the J&K Relief Fund on Monday to help fight the coronavirus outbreak in the state.


The official spokesperson told KINS that Managing Director Atul Sharma presented a cheque to Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department.


He said the amount would be deposited in the relief account as voluntary contribution from the staff of the corporation. “Managing Director SICOP apprised the Commissioner Secretary that corporation employees donated part of their salary to help fight the Coronavirus outbreak.


The corporation has also extended support and hassle free service to Industrial units who are manufacturing essential goods.


Moreover the corporation has claimed that it has supplied 150 liters of sanitizers to various departments and 3000 beds to hospitals within shortest period of time.


“These items are manufactured by the local MSMEs who are working round the clock to meet the requirement of Government as well as private market. All the Industrial Estates are being sanitized on regular basis and SICOP has also distributed masks to employees engaged in essential services,” he added.


The Commissioner Secretary appreciated the initiative taken by SICOP and further asked Managing Director to ensure that fumigation and cleanliness in Industrial Estates is done on regular basis. (KINS)
