Act fast on projects: LG tells officials

Srinagar, Aug 25 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha has asked his advisors and administrative secretaries to ensure all projects that are underway or have recently been announced in the Jammu and Kashmir Union territory should be completed on a war footing and ensure that projects do not languish unnecessarily.


Officials close to the Lieutenant Governor told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that Sinha called for adopting a viable strategy for providing best possible developmental infrastructure to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.


“The Lt Governor stressed on inter-departmental coordination and asked the advisors and the chief secretary for regular monitoring of all the projects in order to achieve results on the ground,” they said adding that the LG has directed the officers to work in a close synergy to remove any bottlenecks coming in the way of progress of works, besides ensuring timely completion of all the projects with strict adherence to the quality norms.


The officials said that the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, today took a comprehensive review of the progress on important developmental projects of Jammu and Kashmir at a meeting held at the Civil Secretariat.
He also reviewed various upcoming developmental projects of the Union territory.


“The Lieutenant Governor called for adopting a viable strategy for providing best possible developmental infrastructure to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and collaborated efforts from every stakeholder to bring about a massive transformation in the region,”.


Meanwhile sources said that the Sinha has stressed on inter-departmental coordination and has asked the Advisers and the Chief Secretary for regular monitoring of all projects in order to achieve results on the ground.
“He directed the officials to work in close synergy to remove any bottlenecks coming in the way of progress of works, besides ensuring timely completion of all projects with strict adherence to quality norms. He also directed the officials to make judicious use of available resources and quickly clear all issues creating hurdles in development works,” sources maintained.


Development projects are the backbone of a region’s holistic development. People of J&K have set the bar of expectations from the government very high, so make sure that all projects are completed within the stipulated time-frame to fulfil the developmental aspirations of the people, the Lt Governor has said.(KINS)
