DLSA Celebrates “Children’s Day” at Udhampur


Srinagar, Nov 13 (KINS) To commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India Jawahar Lal Nehru, District legal Services Authority (DlSA) Udhampur today celebrated Children’s Day at Subash stadium with great zeal, enthusiasm and fanfare.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Mohan Lal Manhas who is also the chairman of the Authority, was the chief guest, while Sub-Judge Sandeep Kour was the guest of honor at the event.
Beside, Principal Shivalik College of Education Dr .Vikram Gulati, Retainer Lawyer Sanjit Kumar were also present.
Different sports competitions which include Judo, Badminton and Yoga were organized to mark the day in which a large number of students from different schools and colleges participated.
The appreciation certificates were also given by chief guest to the students who excelled in different games. Sports activities were organized under the supervision of Manager Saktish Gupta and coaches of different games.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru had a passion for children whom he loved and groomed as future of the country. He said that there is need to safeguard the rights of children. He urged the parents to deal with their wards with love and affection.
Secretary DLSA, Sandeep Kour, in her address  the main aim of celebrating the day is to take pledge to protect the rights of the children so that they are not deprived of their privileges. She presented vote of thanks and appreciated members of Sports council of India for their cooperation in organizing the event. She also appreciated employees of DLSA for their tireless effort in making DLSA programmes a great success.(KINS)
