Rs.2.80 Crore sanctioned to 40 candidates of Shopian for establishing SEU

Shopian June 28 (KINS): To empower youth of the district and facilitate them to establish a sustainable livelihood, besides extend benefits under self-employment schemes, the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) under Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) conducted interview of 94 candidates of the district.

The interview was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Who is also the Chairman of District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC).

The candidates had applied for availing financial assistance through Khadi &Village Industries Board (KVIB) Shopian.

As many as 40 candidates were found eligible for establishing their self-employment income generating units which include 9 Provision Stores, 10 Rural Transport, 13 Trade and 8 Dairy Farms of various categories in respective areas of the district to earn their livelihood at ease and an amount of Rs.2.80 Crore was sanctioned in favour of the selected candidates through various financial institutions working in the district.
