DGP sanction medical relief in favour of NoK, SPO martyrs

Srinagar, SEPT  20 (KINS) Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dibagh Singh on Monday sanctioned Rs 12 lakh medical and welfare relief in favour of Special Operation Group (SOG) and Next of Kin (NoK) of martyrs.

A police spokesman said that continuing with its endeavour to provide succor to the NoKs of martyrs, SPOs in the time of need, the DGP Singh has sanctioned financial assistance, medical relief over Rs 11.60 lakh in favour of 40 SPOs and welfare relief of Rs 90 thousand in favour of NoK’s of martyred police personnel.

The assistance provided has been sanctioned out of SPOs Contributory Fund and Police Pariwar fund ranges from Rs ten thousand to Rs fifty thousand.

He said Rs ninety thousand has been sanctioned in favour of NoK’s of three martyred police personnel to defray the expenses in connection with self treatment or treatment of their dependents. The welfare relief amount ranges from Rs 15000 to Rs 50000 and has been sanctioned out of the Police Pariwar fund.

He said Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
