Security beefed up for Home Minister Amit Shah’s JK UT visit

Srinagar, Oct 20 (KINS): Ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s scheduled visit to Jammu and Kashmir, strict security measures have been imposed in Jammu and Kashmir Union territory.

Shah is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir on October 23-25. During his visit, Shah will hold important high-level meetings on the security situation in Kashmir.

Sources in the Jammu and Kashmir police told news agency KINS, that as part of the security measures, all senior officers have been directed to do effective area domination on the ground.  

“Senior police officers have been given the mandate to monitor and implement all the security measures,”

Sources said that the Home Minister will chair a meeting on security arrangements in the Union territory especially after the recent civilian killings.

“The meeting will be attended by all security agencies operating in the UT.  In the meeting, the state police and other security agencies will be giving a detailed presentation on the security measures,” sources said.

Sources said that there will be another security meeting to review the overall security in the state and counter-insurgency measures.

The police said that the security has been further tightened. “The security apparatus is in place and all security agencies are maintaining high level synergy.”(KINS)
