The Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, R.R. Swain, unveiled the J&K Police Wives Welfare Association Calendar for 2024, emphasizing the noteworthy achievements and activities of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in a simple ceremony held at the Police Headquarters in Jammu on January 2.
Present at the event were M.K Sinha (ADGP Hqrs/Coord.), B.S Tuti (IGP Headquarters/CIV PHQ), Dr Abhishek Mahajan (AIG Welfare PHQ), and Shabir Ahmad (DySP Welfare PHQ).
The 2024 calendar showcases major activities organized by the J&K Police in 2023, highlighting the recognition received through medals, including 01 Kirti Chakra, 02 Shaurya Chakra, 80 Police Medals for Gallantry Services, 03 President Police Medals for Distinguished Services, and 31 Police Medals for Meritorious Services.
Notable calendar features include Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah meeting martyrs’ families, LG Manoj Sinha paying tributes to martyrs, inspection of parade contingents, and the President’s Medal presentation during the Investiture Ceremony at Raj Bhawan, Jammu. The calendar also captures events like Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge Ceremony, blood donation camps, police commemoration parade at APC Zewan, and the inspection of Guard of Honour by the new DGP J&K at PHQ, Srinagar.
Highlighting initiatives and youth engagement schemes under the Civic Action Program, the calendar features events such as Jammu Marathon, Kashmir Marathon, Cycle Race Pedal for Peace, 19th Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament, Aman Memorial Cricket Tournament, jashan-e-Dal, Rashtra katha Shivir, and retired DGP’s & senior police officers with the winners of Kashmir Marathon. Additionally, the Dare Devils team of J&K Police’s talent display during Republic Day is showcased.
The calendar dedicates pages to the department’s welfare activities for martyred families, personnel, and SPOs, providing a comprehensive overview of the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s endeavors in 2023.
