Police arrests two HM militants, arms and ammunition recovered

Srinagar: Two militants affiliated with Hizb Ul Mujahideen were arrested by Jammu and Kashmir Police at Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The arrested militants have been identified as Jan Mohammad Sheikh son of Abdul Aziz resident of Kaweni Dugripora and Nasir ul Islam son of Shabir Ahmed Shah, a resident of Panzgam.

Police said that they were working on which a joint naka was established at Panzgam railway underpass by 55 RR, Awantipora Police and 185 CRPF late Tuesday evening.

Officials said that the duo were asked to stop after being spotted but fled. “The duo was chased and apprehended.”

“One UBGL thrower, two hand grenades and some ammunition of AK series was recovered from them. They are affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen,” he said.
