Army organises camp for specially abled persons in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 12 ( KINS) : Indian Army in cooperation with Jaipur Based NGO, Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), organized a three day artificial limb fitment and assistance camp for specially abled persons from 10 Oct 21 to 12 Oct 21 at Durgmulla Garison

More than  300  people got benefitted from the camp.  Beneficiaries were provided with 60 wheelchairs, 114 hearing aids and 48 different types of crutches .  In addition to the equipment, a team of prosthetic technicians was also present who assessed the amputees & specially abled and fitted artificial limbs to 30 beneficiaries. 63 calipers were also provided to individuals affected by Polio.

This was a first time that a camp for specially abled persons is being organized at such a large scale in North Kashmir.  Locals came to the camp even from remote areas of Machil, Keren and Thangdhar in spite of adverse weather. The local population felt the Camp was a great step towards amelioration of the conditions of the disabled persons in North Kashmir.( KINS)
