Minor clashes between students at NIT

November 18: For the second time in the recent years, minor clashes broke out between some local and non-local students at NIT Srinagar.
Earlier the clashes were witnessed in 2016 over a cricket match between locals and non locals.
This time the students had a heated argument over some issue in the intervening Friday night. Following which the non locals boycotted classes. However they ended the protest after Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah visited the campus and assured the students that an impartial inquiry will be held and people responsible for the clashes will be punished, sources said.
