SRINAGAR, Jan 10 : A 13-year-old Muslim girl from Ramban of Jammu region was found pregnant after being raped repeatedly by a man in his mid twenties.
The victim is from Varnal Sarbagni Ramban who was raped multiple times for last three months.
The incident came to the the fore three days ago when she fell ill. She was rushed to hospital where doctors confirmed she has been raped.
Following which the police arrested the accused Sanju Singh of Varnal of Ramban.
She had said that she remained silent as she was threatened by accused to be silent or face consequences, a source told Kashmir In-depth.
Last year, Kashmir as well as parts of India were shocked after the gang rape and murder of an eight-year-old Muslim girl from Kathua of the same region.
A special investigation team (SIT) has been constituted supervised by additional superintendent of police, Sanjay Parihar, while deputy superintendent of police, Banihal, Sajad Ahmed is also a member.
