Jammu-Srinagar National Highway closed due to fresh snowfall

Srinagar, Jan 11 : The Jammu Srinagar National Highway has been closed for vehicular traffic due to fresh snowfall in the region.

Official reports said that Jammu-Srinagar NHW has been closed due to accumulation at Jawahar Tunnel.

Officials however added that commuters are advised to undertake journey on NHW only after confirming status of the road from below mentioned phone numbers.

Pertinently Kashmir is currently under the grip of Chillai-Kalan, a 40-day long period of harsh winter.Chillai-Kalan commences each year on December 21 and concludes on January 30.
