JeM militant arrested in south Kashmir

Srinagar, May 13 : Government forces on Monday arrested a militant of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit from Verinag area of Dooru in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

A police officer told that a joint team of army’s 19RR and SOG Dooru today afternoon carried out a raid at Panzwa village and apprehended the person namely Hilal Ahmad Naikoo son of Ali Mohammad Naikoo from his home.

The officer said that Hilal is an active militant of JeM. “Some arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession,” he said.

“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations were taken up,” the officer said. (GNS)
