IGP Kashmir reviews security preparedness for NLSA events and KU alumni meet
Srinagar, July 23 (KINS): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, IPS, chaired a high-level meeting at Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir to review and finalize security arrangements for the upcoming events of the National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) and the University of Kashmir’s Alumni Meet.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including DIG CKR Srinagar, DIG Armed Kashmir, DIGs of CRPF North and South Ranges, Director SSF, SSP Srinagar, SSP Traffic Srinagar, Commanding Officer AP 5th Battalion, SP East, SP South, SP Hazratbal, along with nodal officers from Kashmir University, the Indian Air Force, BSF, and CRPF.
IGP Birdi stressed the need for heightened alertness and coordinated efforts to ensure foolproof security for both events. He noted that the NLSA programmes, focused on legal awareness and improving access to justice, are of national importance, while the KU Alumni Meet is a prestigious academic and professional gathering.
He directed all concerned officers to strengthen surveillance at key venues, deploy adequate security personnel, and implement well-planned traffic management strategies to ensure hassle-free movement for participants and the general public.
Reiterating the significance of the events, IGP Birdi said that all necessary measures would be taken to provide a safe and conducive environment for attendees. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment among all agencies to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of both events.(KINS)
