Forces lay siege to Anantnag forests, gunshots heard

Srinagar, Jun 08 : Government forces on Saturday launched a cordon and search operation in the forests of Nougam in Shahabad Anantnag in south Kashmir followed by several gunshots.

Reports said that government forces cordoned off the Nougam forest in Shahabad Anantnag after receiving the following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

Reports said that few gunshots were heard as the cordon was being tightened by the forces but It was not immediately clear if militants fired at the forces or the latter fired some speculative shots.
