Jammu July 16th : As an endeavor to strengthen the police Public relation and to redress the grievances of general public, SSP Doda Sh. Shabir Ahmed Malik visited Goha Marmat along with Shri. Monaj Kumar Dy SP Hqrs Doda, IC PP Goha SI Mohd Ramzan and held a PCPG meeting at Goha Marmat, which was attended by respectable, elders and there was a gathering of nearly 80-90 people in the meeting including Sarpanches/Panches, members of social and political groups. Among the Prominents who attended meeting include Shri Munshi Ram –Naib Sarpanch, Shri Mohd Syed- Social Worker, Shri. Mohd Yousif –Social Worker, Shri. Ghulam Hussan –Sarpanch Behota, Shri Ajmal Bhat- Social Worker etc.
During PCPG meetings, the participants put forth their demands/issues viz: – 1. Receiving station has been constructed by Electric Deptt but has not been commissioned since long due to which people are suffering. 2. There is acute shortage of drinking water as scheme was designed for just 50 households and has never been upgraded despite increase of households to 550.
The water pipes are rusted and require immediate replacement. 3. Shortage of Staff in HSS Goha Marmat. 4. Shortage of passenger vehicles on the route of Khellani to Goha Marmat and providing of SRTC vehicles to facilitate the movement of general public of the area on the route. 6. Opening of a New Degree College at Goha Marmat. 5. Up-gradation of Police Post Goha to Police Station. 7.
Demanded for permanent Posting of Tehsildar at Tehsil Hqrs Goha Marmat. 8) Construction of foot Bridge at Longa Benger, Bunarya, Goha Rachoo route because it become highly risky for School Children during incessant rains / floods. 9 Black topping of road from Khellani to Goha Marmat. The participants were assured that their demands/ Issues shall be projected to the concerned departments for redressal and those pertaining to the Police Departments would be resolved on priority.
SSP Doda emphassed upon the participants to educate the youth to follow the traffic rules. District Police Doda is doing best to control over the road accidents by way of checking of vehicles round the clock. In this connection SSP Doda sought the cooperation from general Public to eradicate the over speeding and overloading by the drivers.
People were asked to give their hand by way of sharing information against the culprits, trouble mongers and mischievous elements to strengthen the hands of District Police and maintain peace and communal harmony in the area and urged upon the youth for their cooperation to curb evils in the society like alcoholism, smoking, drug addiction, Smuggling of forest produce, illicit liquor etc, so that a crime free atmosphere is created in the District. People however appreciated the role of Doda police in controlling the raising crime.
