BJP Unit Kargil met With Rajnath Singh and Dr. Jitender Singh at Drass

Kargil, July 20 : Bharatiya Janata Party District Unit Kargil (Ladakh) called upon Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Dr. Jitendra Singh Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office and welcomed them to the land of martyrs, Kargil, Ladakh.

The Delegation led by Shri Mohd Ali Majaz Districts President BJP Uint Kargil, Nominated Councilor, Stanzin Chosgoyal, Mohd Hassan Pasha BJYM State Vice President, Zakir Ali District general Secretary and Mohd Hussain BJYM District President.

Thanking the Party Leadership for Ladakh Division, University for Ladakh and Zojjila Tunnel thanked for the separate allocation of Rs 200 crore for making the Kargil Airport functional, yet another long pending demand have been fulfilled by the government.

He informed the Defence Minister that several pending project roads under Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Center Road Funds (CRF), Border Area Development Programme (BADP) and urged the minister to speed-up the process so as to make the road an all-weather link and help save the lives of the people besides being important from defence point of view.

The Delegation presented a memorandum on behalf of the people of Kargil (Ladakh) with the hope that the Defence Minister himself will consider these and would ensure that the goal of the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Of India Narendra Modi with the Slogan “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas, Sabka Vishwaas” would be realised.

The Memorandum consists of demands like, Shifting of Kargil Town to the Kurbathang Plateau which is presently allocated to the Indian Army, Inclusion of Kargil in the list of areas which are granted the “Actual Line of Control” Certificate, Recruitment of youths in the Ladakh Scouts have been mired in controversy with allegations of discrimination, Relaxation to Kargil local people Porters in the Indian Army, Inclusion of various left out regions in the Border Development Program, Extra impetus on Sadbhavna Schemes and Separate Districts for Zanskar and Drass sub Devision.

The Defence Minister assured that their demands will be looked into. He also informed the delegation that shifting of Kurbathang plateau which is under army control is in the last stage and it will be vacated for civilian purposes. The Kargil (Ladakh) land has bravely faced the enemy time and again. The proud and most brave soldiers have always been at the toes for the safeguard of this land and the entire nation.

He further said that the Centre had sanctioned Rs 716.85 crore under the BADP in the last five years.
