NC demands immediate restoration of internet facilities

National Conference (NC) Provisional Secretary Kashmir Showket Mir on Wednesday terms the continuous detention of political leaders undemocratic.

He said this doesn’t suit to a democratic country to put political leaders under detention for a long time. “Government should immediately release all the political leaders, and other detainees, who were detained ahead of abrogation of Article 370,” the provisional secretary Kashmir said.

He has demanded the immediate release of all detainees including three former Chief Ministers of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti.

The provisional secretary said that one hand the authorities are claiming that everything is normal in Kashmir and other the leaders are continuous under detention despite passing more than four months.

Mir said it doesn’t suit to a democratic country to put its leaders under detection for such a long time, the leaders were preventively detained and they must be freed after normalcy.

He also said in absence of internet shutdown in the valley journalists, media houses, traders, businessman and students are suffering a lot in absence of the internet facility in the valley,  Mir questions if the authorities  are claiming that everything is normal in Kashmir then why is internet service shut,

He also demands immediate restoration of internet services in the valley so the people will not suffer more.

On Political activity, Mir said NC has conducted several meetings at head office Nawai Subuh and there was a good response from the people he said. (KNS)
