KSG starts coaching for 150 students in Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 23 : Various academicians and educationists have voiced their concern over deterioration of educational sector in Kashmir and inability of Kashmiri students to crack IAS examination for the last two consecutive years.
The experts said that the representation of Kashmiri Muslims in administration and various other fields is already minimal and if the trend continues a Kashmiri may never be able to head any office of public importance in the next few years.
“This will have a disastrous effect on the collective psyche of society and may even drive youth towards frustration and pessimism,” said Raza Hamid director Khan Study Group (KSG), a leading coaching centre for competitive examinations in India, during a lecture Civil Services College Parraypora. “We understand the precarious situation here and unfortunately education is the worst affected in it.”
In a statement issued ,Hamid said that there is no dearth of talent in Kashmir but in todays world talent alone is not sufficient to succeed in life. “For exam like IAS a student needs dedicated faculty, intelligent time management, curated syllabus, continuation updation of study material, 24X7 online support etc. And unfortunately in Kashmir these things are missing and result is dismal even among talented students here,” said Raza. “To overcome these challenges we at KSG have decided to set coaching facility for 150 students in Srinagar, which will have dedicated faculty from New Delhi, updated library, hostel facility, lease line and other facilities,” said Raza urging students to remain optimistic and make maximum out of every resource.
The other speakers also talked in length about need for Kashmiri students to crack competitive examinations like IAS.
“Previously we would have around 10 students qualifying for IAS but for the last two years the result has been zero, and this needs to change. We need to become masters of our destiny otherwise Kashmiris would be confined to low level posts only everywhere” said the speakers. “We need centres like KSG here as nowadays Kashmiri students are even scared to study in outside states due to fearful situation.” The statement issued reads.
On the occasion the experts also answered questions from hundreds of students coming from all over the valley.
The speakers called for more private investment in quality education which is the need of the hour.
