KINS Desk

Srinagar, March 27 (KINS): Over 100 suspected coronavirus people are quarantined at two hospitals of Srinagar.

Government has converted various hospitals including CD Hospital Srinagar, and JLNM Hospital Rainawari entirely for isolation purposes of coronavirus cases or suspects.

An official of CD Hospital Srinagar told Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that at least 70 suspected people or coronavirus are admitted to the hospital.

“Some have travel history while others had come in contact who have tested positive for coronavirus,” the official said.

He said several people are also admitted who have tested positive.

“All the positive cases are in isolation and proper care is being taken to treat them,” the official said.

Similarly at the 111 bedded JLNM Hospital Rainawari which too has been converted into COVID-19 Centre, there are two positive cases of coronavirus and 30 suspected are in quarantine.

“We are waiting for test reports of these 30 people who are in quarantine. Some have symptoms of coronavirus but everything will be clear once the reports come,” the official said.

The official said the 111 bedded can be totally used for suspected coronavirus patients if the need arises.

“Two medical officers, two staff nurses, two paramedics and one sweeper is posted at flu clinic and quarantined ward,” the official added.

Authorities in Kashmir have expressed apprehensions that the cases could be more than reported in the Valley as a significant number of people appeared to have concealed their travel history.

Among them 3,061 are in home quarantine (including facilities operated by the government), 80 in hospital quarantine and 1,477 in home surveillance.(KINS)
