COVID-19: Admin enforces strict lockdown in Watergam

Srinagar, April 09 (KINS): In the wake of COVID-19 scare, administration has enforced strict lockdown in Town Watergam and its adjoining areas of north Kashmir.

Nakas have been established on all entry and exit locations to restrict the movement of people.

A senior police official said that the lockdown has been intensified so as to thwart any community transmission of the deadly virus. He claimed initially huge rush of people at bank branches posed a very serious challenge. He however said the flow of people was being regulated area wise in consultation with the bank officials.

A medico while speaking KINS correspondent also reiterated that he was stopped at various checkpoints by security personnel on way to the hospital. (KINS)
