Srinagar, June 02 (KINS): Acting tough against social crimes, Srinagar Police have arrested six gamblers from a gambling site.
Police in a statement issued to news agency KINS said that police party from Police Station Nishat raided a gambling site at Ishber Nishat following an input about gambling activities and apprehended six gamblers for gambling offences.
Officers have seized playing cards and stake money of ₹1,44,200/- from the gamblers. They have been arrested and shifted to PS Nishat where they remain in custody.
Case FIR No. 68/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Nishat and further investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.(KINS)
