Srinagar, June 07 (KINS): Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Sunday in an e-meeting expressed serious concern after 20 doctors turned Covid positive in past couple of days.
DAK Presdent, Dr Suhail Naik expressed worry over this burning issue and said that even though health care workers are adhering to various guidelines issued by ICMR for their safety but still are turning positive due to high risk involved, being on the forefront.”
According to statement issued to KINS, Dr Naik further said that, “administration is solicited that separate reasonable quality isolations facility may be arranged by the department for COVID-19 Positive Health care workers on urgent basis which will keep the morale of health care workers in high esteem”.
General Secretary DAK, Dr Owais H Dar speaking on this grave issue said that,
“even though DAK strongly advocates and encourages strict home isolation for COVID-19 positive patients as well as home quarantine for COVID-19 suspects as per the latest guidelines issued by ICMR, however till the time a decision is taken in this regard a good quality isolation facilities may be arranged at District and block levels for COVID-19 positive Health care workers”.
DAK suggested that, “tourist huts, circuit houses, dak bungalows and hotels should be converted into isolation areas for health care workers and their families on urgent basis”
DAK urged the Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu, Financial Commissioner Atul Duloo, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole to pass adequate directions in this matter at the earliest. (KINS)
