Ganderbal Police arrests 4 gamblers, stake money seized

Ganderbal, October 15: Acting tough against social crimes, Ganderbal Police have arrested 4 gamblers from a gambling site and seized ₹13,810/- stake money, a police statement said.
The statement said a police party from Police Station Lar raided a gambling site at Repora following an input about gambling activities and apprehended four gamblers. “They have been identified as Abdul Rashid Sheikh resident of Tulmulla, Abdul Majeed Dar resident of Pir Mohalla Tulmulla, Nazir Ahmed Bhat resident of Dangerpora Ganderbal and Mohammad Sami Ganai resident of New Colony Tulmulla,” the statement said.

Officers have seized stake money of ₹13,810/- from the gamblers. They have been shifted to Police Station Lar where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 82/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Lar and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
